After Hours collection was born from the idea of transformation of movement, rhythm and psychedelics that would be incorporated into individual objects and that would communicate with the audience and magnetize it with their haptic form. It is about interplay of colours, organic forms and minimalism.
Inspiration and concept for creation of these artworks is based in both differences and common features between memories of childhood that are represented by sweets and variety of colours (lollypops, fair candies, bonbons) that are confronted with adult life features with their illusions, magnetism of night and drugs. The name of the show is therefore related to hours after sleepless night when a man is returning from the party – dazed, mixing the experiences, hallucinations, feelings, memories and the chemistry of love.
Integral part of these artworks is the form and material where recycling of plastics (garbage) given to Joao by his friends has its important role. His friends are in this way actually present in his work. After Hours uses language where pop and minimalism are joining together (references to Arte Povera movement and neoconcretism).
