LOOK-IN - Zdeněk Trs / Jan Uldrych
The Chemistry Gallery has the great pleasure to invite you to the exhibition „LOOK-IN“ – Zdeněk Trs, Jan Uldrych – exhibition of two last year graduates from Academy of Fine Arts in Prague who attended atelier of classic painting techniques of prof. Zdenek Beran. The vernissage will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 7:00 p.m.
Zdeněk Trs and Jan Uldrych create artworks with clearly defined hyperrealistic visual orientation. Another common aspect
of the artwork of the two young artists and their professor Mr. Beran is also their existencionalism tendency in their artwork
themes. Despite this, both young artists keep their own individuality and can be identified easily through their work.
Zdeněk Trs creates hyperrealistic pictures of the life borders, or better maybe just residues of life. He also shows the “borders” in paintings showing inspiration by pop-art. Jan Uldrych shows the audience surrealistic symbols and dream scenes in his hyperrealistic paintings.
The exhibition will be opened by Pavel Kappel.
The exhibition will continue in The Chemistry Gallery from May 12 until June 5, 2011.

Jakub Švéda - Factonature
The Chemistry Gallery has the privilege of showcasing the artwork of a young Czech artist, Jakub Švéda (*1973), in the Prague
Quadriennale 2011 (Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space), which is an international competition of scenery and
theatre architecture. The Prague Quadriennale is considered the largest and most important event of its kind in the world.
Jakub’s artwork explores a number of mediums including; painting, photography, installation, video-art, design and architectonic
realizations. His name became widespread amongst the Czech people after he designed the prestigious movie award, Czech Lion.
Continual themes that run throughout Jakub Švéda’s artwork are technology, light and organisms. Although he embraces many
different elements, Jakubs work always returns back to the notion of technics. In his paintings, drawings and videos we see
movement among organic materials, which creates the feeling of a living organism. The driving force within the work is that
nature is technically perfect in its simplicity and beauty. Jakub uses paintings and collages to express this by binding colourful
stickers together to create playful, abstract patterns that still hold a sense of order.
Jakub Švéda will introduce an overview of his artwork but his main focus will be his new artwork which he has created exclusively
for The Chemistry Gallery.

Brněnské koření
We would like to invite you to the new exhibition “Brněnské koření“ that introduces four artists from Brno creating art between art and design. All artists studied or are still studying at the FaVut in Brno and their artwork is mostly visible on the design scene. Their work is often seen as design, but also shows some of the artist art-statements.
This design is here not only to be liked, not in the common way of the meaning. This design awakes the deepest feelings in the audience, defy, hate. The artist try what the audience-consuments can take, they create their new borders of what is acceptable. They ask the audience questions, they are the mirror of them. They fascinate them to show him the audience’s aberrant view.
The exhibition will introduce the following artists:
Minimon / Monika Lysá a Petra Cihlářová
Zvrhlý vkus / Vendula Chalankova
Tereza Damcová
Ondřej Homola
The exhibition will start with a vernissage taking place on Monday, June 27 from 7:00 pm and will be presented together with the exhibition “FACTONATURE“ by Jakub Švéda.
Within the vernissage there will be a performance by Tereza Damcová and a music performance in the minimal-electro-style
by DJ Mike_H.
KONCENTRÁT IV
Concentrate IV (Koncentrát IV)
Concept of made by readymade is simple. Concentrate is a show made every year to show will to confrontation. Theme made by
readymade is about system of expression that is understandable by educated people and have system of joke that is not embarrasing
but simply clever. Same like an artist who did the same thing as Duchamp and called it allreadymade.
