Výstava předního streetartového umělce tvořícího v Los Angeles, jehož malby je možné vidět
v mnoha světových městech. Chase je původem z Belgie a během své umělecké kariéry spolupracoval s Banksym a dalšími předními osobnostmi světové graffiti a streetartové scény.
Díla pro výstavu budou vytvořena přímo na terase The Chemistry Gallery.

The Chemistry Gallery připravila stejně jako v loňském roce výběr nejlepších klauzurních prací z českých vysokých uměleckých škol (AVU, FaVU, VŠUP). Představena budou díla celkem 14 studentů. V letošním výběru převládá figurativní malba, hyperrealistickou počínaje (Vichrová, Houska), expresivní konče (Vojnárová). Sochy zde zastoupené (Prokić, Jáchimová) navazují na groteskní projevy v českém umění. Mezi malbou a objektem se nacházejí boxy Kláry Vystrčilové. Oproti loňskému roku byl do výběru zahrnut i grafický design a ilustrace. Výstavu připravil tým The Chemistry Gallery (Petr Hájek – ředitel galerie, Jiří Pokorný - produkce, Kristýna Císařová, Tomáš Klička – kurátoři výstavy).

Na vernisáži bude vystaven ledový sochařský portrét Václava Klause od Markéty Jáchimové ironizující prezidentovy klimatologické názory, jehož prezentace vyvolala rozruch a vzbudila nevoli ze strany Úřadu vlády.

Vážení milovníci umění,

přijměte naše pozvání na výstavu, která slibuje býti nejzajímavější výstavou tohoto jara: výstavu mladého francouzského malíře Gaetana Henrioux.

Mladý talentovaný malíř Gaetan Henrioux vystudoval Ecole Nationale Superieure v Paříži. Již od skončení studií v roce 2006 se profesionálně zabýval malbou a grafickým designem. V současnosti pracuje již jen jako malíř zastupovaný pařížskou galerií Roy Sfeir umístěnou v pařížském centru galerií – ulici rue de Seine v Saint Germain des Prés. Jeho díla jsou plná forem a barev, které společně vytvářejí scény, jenž nabízí nevšední pohled na každodenní životní situace, které zažívá každý z nás. Na plátnech a obrazech Gaetana Henrioux lze vidět překvapení, napětí, tajemství i snadno čitelné situace, u nichž se však vždy vynořuje otázka, co této situaci předcházelo, co ji způsobilo a jak bude pokračovat. Stylově se v jeho tvorbě kloubí hyperrealismus s pop artem, což v kombinaci se ztvárňovanými tématy dává dohromady energií nabitou, výsostně současnou a již vyzrálou malířskou zpověď. V jeho olejích na plátně lze vysledovat inspiraci a návaznost na díla Davida Hockneyho či Edgara Degase. Jeho díla se prodávají v Paříži, dalších francouzských městech, Londýně či New Yorku.

Zahájeni výstavy Gaetana Henrioux proběhne dne 4.6. od 19:00 v The Chemistry Gallery, U Kanálky 4, Praha 2 – Vinohrady. Během zahájení výstavy zahrají The Right Hook DJs svůj mash-up set.

Výstava bude dále probíhat ve dnech od 4.6.2010 do 4.7.2010.

The Chemistry Gallery is proud to invite you to the Faith and Devotion exhibition presenting the artworks of several young artists involved in the Czech contemporary art scene.

Coming from schools of art, in the Czech Republic or abroad, these new talents express their art in a style very different from each other. This is why it was quite hard to find a common point between all these personalities as everyone chooses topics according to his own sensibility and personality. We can quote, among others, the misrepresentation of human figure in Jetela’s works, the « pasolinian » reference in Nemec’s and the question of genre in Vejsicka’s pictures.

The visitor will notice himself that we could not compare all these works, and the common point which could be pointed up is linked to the Chemistry’s first aim, to promote young artists until 35 years old.

Indeed, all these artists are in the beginning of their careers, testing the market of art and its stakes. How to diffuse his art? How to build strong relationships with their network and its protagonists? What value do they have to give to their works? How to survey, and which way to choose?

The visitor or/and the buyer cannot imagine how the artist’s life is full of questions and doubts. In top of that, the status of the artist has changed: he does not create in his kitchen anymore, hiding his art. Today, he is decided to bring people to respect his creation and his ideas.

The Faith and Devotion exhibition is a tribute to all these artists I met during my training period at the Chemistry Gallery. I was very impressed by their faith in what they do and their devotion for art. Discussions with them allowed me to have another insight to their work, and to realize that even the « less marketable » painting has to be regarded.

This selection proposes paintings and pictures which belong to The Chemistry Gallery Collection. The audience has certainly already discovered some or all of them. But it doesn’t matter - the aim of the Faith and Devotion Exhibition is to make people re-discover these works in another way.

To forget their aesthetic and rather think about the intentions of the artist. And by this way, I really hope that the visitor will feel the sensation and the fear of the last minutes before the 15-minutes-of-fame….
